Book Review - Eye of the Eagle

While I have enjoyed reading short stories for children by Shirsendu Mukhopadhyay, I have never read any of his thrillers. And so when Bee Books (the publisher) approached me to review this book. I decided to take it up as a chance to try out the thrillers by the author. I would like to clarify here that I cannot read Bengali fluently and the books I have read are all English translations.

Eloger Chokh (Eye of the Eagle)

The Characters….
Three Women and Bishan
Wife Shivangi, wife's friend Nandini and Jahnavi

The turn of events...
Nandini is brutally murdered!
Shivangi is found in the bedroom, lying half naked and fatally injured.
All evidences are pointing at Bishan. But, is it that simple?

And the truth…
Eye of the Eagle delves into the complications of relationships and world of complicated characters where mystery unfolds only through the eyes of Detective Shobor!

***

I found this to be a quick and good read. Very urban and revolving around complex relationships. The books had interesting characters and I particularly like detective Shobor’s characterisation. The suspense, although predictable, was well maintained till the end.

It is being made into a film too

ok,when it comes to comment, why is everyone writing books these days.though my house had mini library,i was never into books.few days back i went through few pages of immortals of meluha and chetan bhagat's one indian girl on amazon while shopping shampoo for my mom ,i never came across such low quality writing.last time i have read was from h.g.wells,oscar wilde, rudyard kipling from my school books.oscar wilde and h.g.wells was my fvrt back in school.i don't see such quality writings or interesting stuff.writing can be anyone's hobby but only a thinker or instinctive person can write great stuff. people should not write books for popularity or livelihood, they can never produce quality stuff.i have this question again ,WHY IS EVERYONE WRITING BOOKS? omg

    1. I do like your comments on my blog, Alex.

I must say I am very impressed about you buying shampoo for your mom on Amazon. No many kids would do that for their mom, right? I mean seriously, why can't more boys buy shampoo online for their mom. WHY?

    2. see,you have diverted issue without answering the actual question.may be its related to your profession so you don't want to answer.i know that people write books for people to read, but everyone should not write like ram gopal varma making movies for the sake of it.

buying shampoo for mom is not a big deal.when i was in school, she used to wake up at 5 am and used to make breakfast and lunch for carrier by the time(7.30 am) my school bus came and that too my fvrt food all the time.she was awake all night whenever i had fever.may be all moms are not like her or all kids don't remember what their mother did when they were kids.my elder brother booked a room at marriott for a week when she underwent cataract surgery to keep her more comfortable.its just giving back for what they did when you are a kid.see i have answered your question.its really simple.

are you serious about your last two lines(had remote doubt),they sound like indigo upma.i have another question.WHY WOMEN/GIRLS DON'T SPEAK STRAIGHT OR SPEAK THEIR MIND.i write this way cuz i speak my mind all the time.
