Cover Reveal - Conspiracy at Meru

First look at:
The Conspiracy at Meru (Vikramaditya Veergatha # 2)

Guardians of the Halahala (Vikramaditya Veergatha # 1)
has a new look as well!

The deadly Halahala, the all-devouring poison churned from the depths of the White Lake by the devas and asuras, was swallowed by Shiva to save the universe from extinction.
But was the Halahala truly destroyed?
A small portion still remains – a weapon powerful enough to guarantee victory to whoever possesses it. And both asuras and devas, locked in battle for supremacy, will stop at nothing to claim it.
As the forces of Devaloka and Patala, led by Indra and Shukracharya, plot to possess the Halahala, Shiva turns to mankind to guard it from their murderous clutches. It is now up to Samrat Vikramaditya and his Council of Nine to quell the supernatural hordes – and prevent the universe from tumbling into chaos!
A sweeping tale of honour and courage in the face of infinite danger, greed and deceit, The Guardians of the Halahala is a fantastical journey into a time of myth and legend.

Reviews for Guardians of the Halahala

The story is interknitted with action, brilliant storytelling, and insightful of mythological and legendary elements that get under your skin and challenge the way you perceive history, as only few of the talented authors can. ~ Shreya Ganguly @ The Notepad Reviews

I am intoxicated, drugged, and floating in a world that has come to conquer my senses since the last few days. The world of Vikramaditya. The world carved by author Shatrujeet Nath. ~ Amrit Sinha on Goodreads

The quality of writing is powerful and beautiful, almost surreal. ~ By Manish Mahajan on Amazon

In fact the only disappointing thing about this book was that the second part isn't ready yet. ~ Srikanth Sarathy on Amazon

The Other Side - A review. (A Blog Tour)

The Review

The Other Side by Faraaz Kazi and Vivek Banerjee

I enjoy reading horror, I enjoy the paranormal. Hence when I was approached to review this book as part of the Blog tour by The Readdicts, I happily took it up as my first ever book review.

I haven’t been disappointed. This book of thirteen short stories of the paranormal is a pretty decent read. What I liked the most about almost all the stories is that they are not predictable. I enjoyed the unexpected endings (And some mighty horrifying ones too).

I liked the way the authors have worked on creating an idea about the characters in the readers mind and then ending it with something least expected. I enjoyed this the most in stories like 'The long weekend' and 'Strangers in the night.'

Some of the stories seemed like “oh, isn't this similar to the story my great aunt had narrated when I was a kid.” That actually is a nice thing because variations of old folklore are always a pleasant experience.

The English has been simple and pleasant. The minor edit errors and glitches can be overlooked if you take it it as a light read, which it is.

The authors could have focused on being more descriptive with the horrifying experiences. I personally felt that detailed description of passionate scenes, in a couple of stories, was forced.

Overall the book is a creepy blend of spirits, ghosts, werewolves, vampires, beasts, demons and eerie places on the other side.

About the book

GOODREADS SUMMARY OF THE OTHER SIDE:

"A slow rasping sound made me turn. I jumped back, the cell phone leaving my hands and smashing against the concrete floor. Someone was seated on the chair, rocking back and forth. Through the fallen light, I could see those hands placed on the arms of the chair, two gruesome wrinkled limbs with ugly boils plastered over the black skin. The red bangles on its wrists shone in my eyes, momentarily blinding me. That thing and I call it a thing because I could sense it wasn't human as no human could have such a hideous form, as vile an existence as the one seated opposite to my horrified self."

From a honeymoon in the hill that goes horribly wrong to an obsessed lover who wants his first love in life and in death; From a mentally deranged man who collects body parts of various women to stitch together his dream girl to a skeptic who enters a mansion of horrors to win a bet and much more, this book is filled with scenarios that are guaranteed to give you goosebumps and sleepless nights.

'The Other Side' is a collection of thirteen tales of the paranormal; a world that our eyes refuse to see, our ears deny hearing and our senses ignore the feel of. This is a book for someone who is brave enough to take up this invitation to journey through uncharted waters along with the authors, who were inspired by some bizarre experiences to pen down this work where the lines of reality have been blurred by the footsteps of imagination.

Each story takes you on a tour de force of unadulterated horror and draws upon the deepest fear in the human mind- the fear of the UNKNOWN!
